Failed to install SQL - other reasons

The following are some of other causes that could be the reason of installation failure:

1. The installer DVD is not readable:
- check your DVD-ROM drive with other disc to make sure that the hardware device works properly
- test the DVD with other PC to make sure that the dics is not spoiled
- copy the entire content of DVD onto hard disk, and then run the setup from hard disk.

2. Insufficient space on the system drive.
- make sure there is sufficient hard disk space on the system drive. (Default system drive is C drive)

3. Bad sector on hard disk
- Run chkdsk using command prompt to check if harddisk has bad sector

4. Windows security
- Make sure the the Windows User belongs to Administrators group and has sufficient rights to install.
